Selenium & its function to our health

Optimal intake of Selenium is beneficial to our health.  Since human body is not able to synthesize selenium, food is our main source.  Eating foods high in selenium can improve immunity and prevent cardiovascular disease, pancreatic disease, diabetes, cataract and other diseases. Selenium is indispensable for our health, with recommended daily intake for an adult being 50-200 mcg/day.

Agricultural Products with Selenium

Research shows that normal consumption of food only can provide in average around 26-32mcg of selenium for an average adult,  which is far less from recommended daily intake of 50 mcg.
The selenium content in general plant food is relatively low.
Which means it is of a huge benefit for delivering an economical and convenient selenium rich food source.

Rice, apples, oysters mushrooms, tomatoes, vegetables, fruits and various kinds of agricultural products with the tag of “Selenium-Rich” have emerged in the market with a much higher price tag.
